Unit 2 Relaxation!

In unit 2 of my Psychological and Spiritual Aspects of Healing class, we were asked to take part in a relaxation exercise. This proved to be quite difficult, as there has been no down time or quiet time for me in the last couple of weeks. Thankfully, I made some time and was able to do the exercise. It proved to be one of the best things I could have done for myself. It felt as though all my stress and worries about my daily life had just melted away. All of the tension I felt in my shoulders was gone, I felt peaceful and not worried about all that needs to be done.
It really made me think about the power of thought and how I don’t use that power like I could. When I get anxious, worried, overwhelmed, and many other emotions, all I need to do is take a few minutes and think of how I want to react to the situation. It made me think of the physical back pain that I struggle with on a daily basis. I chose to take a few more minutes of relaxation and focus my attention of blood flow to the muscles in my lower back. Surprisingly it helped ease the tension I always feel. I realized through this relaxation that as much as I love making sure everyone in my life is taken care of, there comes a time when I need to think about myself and my health. I tend to just go through the day dealing with the physical back pain and the headaches, but I think after this exercise it’s time for me to take care of myself as well.
The relaxing music and relaxing tone in his voice is something put things at ease and honestly afterwards I felt like a completely different person! This is something that I will continue to do and not just for homework ;-)

Welcome!

Hello Everyone!! This is my first blog and it's already proved to be quite confusing lol Hopefully I'll be able to get the hang of it and hopefully you all will be able to read this. I've tried numerous times and I finally figured out to follow my classmates blog. While this is for class, i'm thinking that it may also prove to be used for personal use as well ;-)
